About us

Hello  - glad you found our corner on the internet- we are Jeannine and Dale.

Our travel videos, or "VLOGs", came from our desire to share our experiences living and working in Malaysia with our family and friends back in North America.  As we had the opportunity to travel and see the beautiful people and beautiful scenery in South East Asia, it renewed our sense of discovery and adventure.  Seeing new sites, learning new things, exploring our surroundings, brought us energy and joy.  As we wrapped up our overseas assignment, and returned to the United States in retirement, we didn't want to lose that sense of discovery.  In fact, now we've got the time to really explore!  It was important to us not to think of retirement as an ending, but rather as a beginning of the next phase, a continued forward journey.   So look out North America - here we come!

We've always enjoyed camping with our family, starting when I was a kid going with my parents in their Triple E trailer.   When we were married, Jeannine and I borrowed our parents'  motorhome and spent our honeymoon driving around Iowa!  Later we had a pop-up Starcraft camper when our kids were young, and also did tent camping as a family as the boys grew up.  As we began planning for our 4WardJourney, we wanted a motorhome that would allow us to travel to lots of places, so for us the right choice was a Class B camper van.  We were able to find a Winnebago Paseo that fit us just right!  Most of our videos are about our travels in the camper, but sometimes the 4WardJourney is best accomplished in our Corvette, or on the Motorcycle, or sometimes via the Jeep if the road is rough.  While we will talk about the logistics of camping,  van life, and sometimes the Corvette,  the real point is the journey not the vessel.  The sense of discovery, of seeing and appreciating a new perspective of earth's beauty, of learning new things, of meeting new people, that's what drives us forward.
